Q: Will I need to hire an additional employee to operate a scrap chopper?
No. You’re already paying an employee to handle your scrap once, just to cut banding off a load. Instead of that employee throwing the scrap on the floor, or in the garbage, have them feed it into a scrap chopper! If employees are handling by-products more than once, then streamlining the handling of scrap should be considered to improve the overall efficiency of the facility.
Q: How does a scrap chopper work?
Just introduce the scrap banding into the infeed funnel. The feedworks will grab the material and pull it into the rotating knife path. The feedworks will continue to pull the scrap in until it is consumed, or until the operator releases the feedworks via the release lever. It’s as simple as feed-and-forget!

CL200 Cut-To-Length Chopper for Polyester Strapping – Simple to maintain and designed for years of industrial use. Sweed’s cut-to-length plastic strap dispenser is designed to increase strap cutting efficiency and worker safety. By automating the strap cutting process, workers receive accurately cut pieces of strap, eliminating waste and reducing material cost.
Operation of the CL200 is quick and easy: load the spool with plastic strapping, prefeed the strapping end into the CL200 cutter head, program the length and quantity of required straps, machine turns off automatically at the end of the batch run.

Model 10-27 Mini Shear is an easy-to-operate and highly portable machine that can be operated from all angles. Despite its small stature, the 10-27 offers powerful and reliable performance. Designed to fulfill the need for a portable trimming and clearing shear, the Mini Shear can be used for trimming fittings off copper tubing, cutting reinforcing steel to length, and cutting production rejects. EZ DUMP HOPPER
Innovative Storage Container that Provides Maximum Safety for the Operator
The Sweed EZ-Dump Self-Dumping Hopper is the fastest, safest, easiest, and most economical way to load, transport, and dump scrap and bulk material.
Sweed’s hopper is designed for forklift handling and offers a unique gravity activated door latch that eliminates the need for hand trip levers or pushing a bin over. This system offers safe, hands-free operation, allowing workers to stay out of harm’s way.
The top loading container is activated by tilting the mast of the forklift forward for complete discharge of contents. As the container tilts, the self-locking mechanism will release the door. As the container is lowered to the ground it will reset and the door will lock. Within a matter of seconds, the EZ-Dump Hopper is ready to go back to work!

SLIDER STAND
Designed to slide the chopper left or right in order to collect scrap banding into the appropriate recycling bin. This stand allows customers who collect both metal and plastic scrap banding to use one chopper to handle both materials, while separating the scrap for recycling purposes. Fits Sweed Scrap Chopper Models 300 and 450 DDX.
