How Does a Can Crusher work?

  • Power Krush™: Place #10 can on the platform of the stand and under the crusher plate at the end of the handle. Lower the handle from right to left until the crushing plate makes contact with the #10 can.
  • PRC Series: Aluminum cans are loaded into the conveyor hopper. The primary function of the in-feed conveyor is to meter the materials into the crushing mechanism. Aluminum cans drop into the crushing mechanism where a cleated drum rotating at high speed pulls the cans against an adjustable steel pressure plate, crushing the material. From the crushing mechanism the material is discharged into a user supplied bunker, container, conveyor, shredder, and/or other device for additional processing or transport.
  • CC5B Series: Plastic bottles or aluminum cans are loaded into the conveyor hopper. The primary function of the in-feed conveyor is to meter the materials into the crushing mechanism. Plastic bottles or aluminum cans drop into the crushing mechanism where a cleated drum or perforation mechanism with teeth rotating at high speed pulls the bottles or cans against an adjustable steel pressure plate, crushing or perforating the material.  From the crushing mechanism the material is discharged onto the out-feed conveyor. The out-feed conveyor carries the material out of the unit allowing the liquid to drain into the temporary capture tank and into other user supplied balers, bunkers, containers, conveyors, shredders, and or other devices for additional processing or transport.  The out-feed conveyor includes a freshwater rinse head with a standard garden hose connection. Run water when operating the crusher mechanism which should aid in the production of cleaner material.  The central capture tank includes a drainpipe that can be placed over a drain or connected to a hose and pumped into a large tank for processing or disposal. Check your local codes and laws regarding the discharge of these materials. An optional pumping unit with liquid level sensor is available as an option. Above the point of discharge there is a screen that will require periodic cleaning.
  • MV Perf Series: Plastic containers or aluminum cans are fed into the perforator where they drop into the crushing mechanism. A low-speed rotating drum with specially designed blades pulls the bottles or cans against an adjustable steel pressure plate, crushing or perforating the material. From the crushing mechanism, the material is discharged into the auger conveyor.  The auger conveyor then transfers the material up into a waiting baler or container.  The incline auger conveyor has a perforated housing to allow liquid to drain prior to moving containers up to the discharge. These drain holes will need to be periodically cleaned to prevent clogging.
  • HV Perf Series: Plastic containers or aluminum cans are dropped from the hydraulic tipper into the perforator crushing mechanism where a low-speed rotating drum with specially designed blades pull the bottles or cans against an adjustable steel pressure plate, crushing or perforating the material. From the crushing mechanism, the material is discharged into the auger conveyor.  The auger conveyor then transfers the material up into a waiting baler or container.

The incline auger conveyor has a perforated housing to allow liquid to drain prior to moving.  containers up to the discharge. These drain holes will need to be periodically cleaned to prevent clogging.  The HV Perforator System is supplied with an automatic wash-down valve system. This system is controlled electronically by the Main Control Panel to operate periodically while the system is in operation. The automatic wash-down system has an adjustable run timer that controls the length of time the rinse cycle runs after the machine shuts down.

  • Master Can Buyer MCB-15: Mixed steel and aluminum cans are loaded into the conveyor hopper. The main function of this unit is to separate the (non-ferrous) aluminum cans from the (ferrous) steel cans and weigh the aluminum cans for buying. This process is accomplished by the in-feed conveyor metering the cans over the magnetic head pulley. The (ferrous) cans are then held by the strong magnetic assembly in the pulley. Then the ferrous cans are released down the conveyor return chute and out the steel can discharge chute that can be mounted on either side of the machine. (Refer to the steel can discharge chute assembly and mounting drawing on page # 12.)  The (non-ferrous) cans are not affected by the magnetic head pulley and are discharged over the end of the conveyor and into the weigh hopper assembly. The cans are then weighed with the optional scale and tabulated with the optional scale indicator. Once the weights have been documented, the discharge door of the weigh hopper is opened, and the cans are discharged into user-supplied containers, can crusher, densifier, conveyors, or other devices for additional processing.
  • CC Series: Aluminum cans are loaded into the conveyor hopper. The primary function of the in-feed conveyor is to meter the materials into the crushing mechanism. A magnetic separator pulls the ferrous material away from the non-ferrous aluminum cans and down a discharge chute. Aluminum cans drop into the crushing mechanism where a cleated drum rotating at high speed pulls the cans against an adjustable steel pressure plate, crushing the material.  From the crushing mechanism the material is discharged into the blower housing aperture. This blower carries the material out of the unit through the adjustable blow-tube into other user supplied bunkers, containers, conveyors, shredders, and/or other devices for additional processing or transport.  The blow-tube is adjustable via a winch assembly to raise or lower the tube to allow the user to maximize filling the trailer or other storage container. The deflector chute on the blow-tube is adjustable by loosening the retaining bolt and moving the rod attached to the chute up or down.  Cans are ejected from the blow tube at very high velocity. NEVER allow anyone to enter the container or the area in front of the blow tube while the machine is running. Doing so may result in serious injury or death.
  • Model 150, 160 or 170: High output can, and glass crushers designed for long life and trouble-free operation. They are all capable of handling full or empty bottles, as well as aluminum, bi-metal, or steel cans. The model 150 is a stand-alone unit with a gravity feed hopper. The 160 and 170 models include a conveyor to allow the crusher to fed with steady flow of material and for ease of loading. The 170 model has a magnetic head and a hinged door on the conveyor to allow the user to sort aluminum from steel or bi-metal cans. Each machine is designed to provide years of dependable service and a minimum of 80% in size reduction.

With a processing capacity of up to 20,000 containers per hour, the REM® Model HV Perf Compactor is the full beverage destruction equipment you’ve been waiting for. Designed to fill the need for a very high-volume full beverage destruction system with the added benefit of absolutely no handling of the destroyed product by your in-plant labor.

REM® Inc. has produced the HV Perf Compactor system to be a completely bulk-fed, low RPM perforating system that also compacts your destroyed containers into a waiting receiver box. This equipment will save you valuable man-hours by automating the tedious chore of manually handling your waste product.

Master Can Buyer

REM®‘s MCB 15 makes aluminum can-buying fast and efficient. Cans are loaded into the conveyor hopper by the operator or customer. The low hopper design and open conveyor provides easy access for sorting out trash, bottles, and other contaminants. The cans are conveyed across a magnetic head pulley that removes the steel cans and allows the aluminum cans to fall into the weigh-hopper. With the optional scale and indicator, the operator can record the weight, trip the weigh hopper door, and discharge the aluminum into a can crusher or other processing equipment.

REDUCE HANDLING AND LABOR COST
The entire buyback process can be handled by just one employee, reducing your labor costs, and increasing your profits!

DESIGNED FOR THE BUYBACK CENTER
Customers appreciate how quickly you can buy their cans and feel confident with the accuracy of the optional electronic digital display. In addition to streamlining your customer service, the MCB-15 simply makes your operation more efficient and profitable.
